Game #6: Texas Rangers 6, New York Yankees 1
The Rangers jumped the Yankees early and the pitching staff made it stand up. Colby Lewis was outstanding once again for the Rangers as he worked the first 8 innings of this game allowing only 3 hits and 1 earned run while walking 3 batters and whiffing 7 to earn the win. Neftali Feliz pitched a scoreless ninth inning whiffing 2 batters (including A-Rod looking on the last out)! The Yankees were scared of Josh Hamilton as he was 1 for 1 with 1 run scored and the Yankees walked him 3 times. Vladimir Guerrero didn’t like the disrespect he was shown by the Yankees’ dugout and he responded by going 1 for 4 with 1 run scored, 1 double and 3 RBIs. Nelson Cruz also had a big game as he was 1 for 3 with 1 run scored, a homer and 2 RBIs. Ian Kinsler pitched in offensively too as he was 1 for 2 with a double and a RBI. The Rangers have now advanced to the World Series for the first time in franchise history by beating the Evil Empire 4-2.
