The Rangers have signed 31-year old righty swinging 2B/3B/1B Jeff Baker to a minor league deal.  Baker played in 83 games for the Cubs, Braves and Tigers last year in which he was 45 of 188 (.239 avg, .656 OPS) with 18 runs scored, 4 homers, 25 RBIs and 4 stolen bases.  He has now played in 543 games in his first eight years in the majors and he is 361 of 1,359 (.266 avg, .744 OPS) with 185 runs scored, 37 homers, 178 RBIs and 12 stolen bases.  Baker will have a good shot of winning a bench job with the Rangers this spring.
